Vintage summer wedding in Athens with retro details and a handmade aesthetic | Valia & Dimitris

A few words about the wedding
Valia and Dimitris chose the summer of Athens to say “I do,” with a mood that was festive yet meaningful, as if they had decided from the start that their day would speak more about them and less about excess. The wedding aesthetic moved in a pure vintage style, with references to old stories: a typewriter that “kept” the invitations, lace fabrics, satin details, and an elegance that didn’t shout—it simply existed. Everything seemed to come together naturally, from getting ready to the ceremony, like a narrative with soft, carefully curated scenes.

The bride appeared in a minimal dress that highlighted her silhouette, with a subtle belt at the waist and a veil that fell lightly, while the Jimmy Choo bridal shoes added just the right dose of sparkle without disrupting the simplicity. During the preparations, the light streaming through the windows and the moments with her friends—amid colorful dresses, laughter, and small emotions—created that intimate atmosphere that evokes summer in the city: warm, human, real.

The ceremony was set in a picturesque little chapel with a courtyard and stone, where the décor kept the retro character in a very fresh way: a wooden table with lace, a glass carafe for the wine, wreaths with ribbons, and floral arrangements in soft cream shades with touches of peach and orange. The daisies, dahlias, and seasonal blooms added color without weighing down the space, while the wreath on the door and the greenery that embraced the entrance made the setting feel as though it had always been there.

The story of the day was captured with sensitivity by ZVS Photography, with images that balance between black-and-white and color, preserving the nostalgia of vintage while also the intensity of the moment: the looks before the crowns, the afternoon light on the veil, the hands that squeeze a little tighter, the smiles that burst out spontaneously. A wedding remembered not for something elaborate, but for the purity of its aesthetic and, above all, for the quiet certainty with which Valia and Dimitris lived every minute of it together.
